Yoga for Every Mind/Body aims to meet people where they are, to offer options and variations so that we might choose what is best for us in the moment. This style asks us to listen to our bodies and to find connections between the body and mind, movement and breath, balance and flexibility. We find ways of staying strong and letting go. We find a deeper understanding through movement. Each class is an organic and unique experience with consistent results—increased strength and flexibility, improved balance and posture, a sense of well-being, stress reduction, and increased body awareness.

WORKSHOPS
Yoga for Balance and Flexibility: February 19 17.15 to 19.15 room 94
Literally and figuratively, balance and flexibility are challenges for many of us. Many people shy away from yoga because they think they are not flexible and many people fail to incorporate balance into their lives and workouts. But yoga is about more than stretching. Through a variety of movements, breathing techniques, myofascial release, and meditations that emphasize balance and flexibility (which can be found in every yoga pose!), we will find opportunities to center ourselves and reach beyond ourselves while we relax, reflect, and rejuvenate.
Yoga for Breaking Binaries: March 19 17.15 to 19.15 room 97
Yoga is many things, but at its core yoga is for every body regardless of gender, body size, race/ethnicity, ability, or age. People who feel their body is under extra scrutiny may shy away from spaces that seem to put extra emphasis on the physical realm. Yoga is a place to find grounding and transcendence, to build better self and body awareness, and to appreciate what our bodies can do instead of how they look. New to yoga, or a long-time practitioner, this workshop aims to give us access to tools that can help us to reduce stress and depression as well as strengthen our bodies and minds. Yoga helps us to break binaries inside and out.
Yoga for Open Hearts, Hips, and Minds: April 23 17.15 to 19.15 room 97
In this workshop, we play with literal and figurative meanings of hearts and hips and start to think about yoga in new ways, exploring the physical and mental benefits achieved through paying attention to our bodies. Instruction is focused on releasing the psoas muscle, the only muscle in our bodies that connects the upper and lower body—a muscle that enables us to walk and assists us in breathing, and a muscle that often contributes to physical and mental discomfort. Attention is also given to opening the chest, a corrective to a slumping posture and a means to opening the heart and mind and finding more love for the self and for others.

When I have to be away from my classes, participants ask me to record classes ... so here's a couple classes. The second is a real challenge since it is upside down!
